CAIRO – 5 May 2017: A documentary about ‘’Les Petits Chats’’ will be screened at Zamalek Cinema on Monday 8th of May at 7 pm.

‘’Les Petits Chats’’ is an Egyptian band founded in 1967 that sings foreign (Italian, French, English) songs. The band used to be immensely popular in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. Its members included the vocalist Ezzat Abou Ouf, the guitarist Freddy Rizk, the drummer Omar Khairat, the composer Hani Shenouda, and the group’s founder and principal vocalist Wagdi Francis.

The musician Omar Khorsid was also one of the band’s members before joining Umm Kulthum’s band.

Wagdi Francis, the band’s founder, died on April 12th 2017 after many efforts of reuniting the band members.
