Mahmoud Mukhtar (May 10, 1891 - March 28, 1934) is one of the few pioneering artists in the art of sculpture and the owner of the famous statue of the Renaissance of Egypt. A museum in his name still exists today, and is considered a destination for art students in Egypt.

Mukhtar contributed to the establishment of the Higher School of Fine Arts and participated in sending artistic missions abroad.

He also participated in several foreign exhibitions with works that received huge success and held a special exhibition of his works in Paris in 1930. This exhibition introduced the modern Egyptian school of art to international art critics.
