EGX ends in green, turnover gains LE 188M

CAIRO – 30 August 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a positive performance at the end of Wednesday’s session, boosted by local and foreign sales.

The benchmark index EGX30 increased 1.67 percent to close at 13,418 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose 0.38 percent to end at 693 points. The broader index EGX100 index also leveled up 0.40 percent to close at 1,565 points.

Market capitalization grew LE 6 billion to reach LE 705 billion compared to LE 699.34 billion last session.

Turnover hiked to LE 935 million, up from LE 747 million, while traded volume achieved 339 million shares after registering 180.6 million shares on Tuesday.

Local and foreign investors were net buyers with a total of LE 6.7 million and LE 25.4 million, respectively, while Arab traders sold for LE 32 million.

The Financial Services excluding Banks led sectors in terms of traded values with LE 224 million, while the Real Estate topped in terms of traded volume with 130.8 million shares.

Global Telecom Holding topped gainers and surged 9.3 percent, while Minapharm Pharmaceuticals led the worst performers and dropped 8.6 percent.
