Egypt's agriculture exports increase by $239.2M during 2023: CAPMAS

CAIRO – 17 January 2024: Egypt's agriculture exports achieved an increase of $239.2 million during the period from January to October 2023, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
 
During the first 10 months of 2023, the total Egyptian agricultural exports reached $3.5 billion, compared to $2.8 billion during the same period in 2022.
 
According to CAPMAS, mango emerged as the leading export with a total of $96.8 million in sales between January and October 2023, surpassing the previous year's figures of $69.8 million during the same period in 2022. 
 
Followed by bean exports, reaching approximately $56.8 million in 2023, compared to the $13.5 million in 2022.
 
Earlier in January, CAPMAS also reported that the value of the trade deficit decreased by 16.6 percent in October 2023, to reach $3.15 billion, compared to $3.78 billion in October 2022.
 
Egypt’s exports decreased by 19.2 percent in October 2023, to reach $3.23 billion, compared to $4.00 billion in October 2022.
 
There was a decline in the value of imports, which reached $6.38 billion in October 2023, marking an 18.0 percent decrease compared to $7.78 billion in October 2022.
