CAIRO – 25 November 2020: Governors of each of Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia all announced suspending classes at schools on Thursday over predictions of an unstable wave and rainfall.

Also, Cairo University and Benha University in Giza and Qalyubia respectively will not receive students, over concerns about the safety of students in bad weather and to allow authorities to deal with bad weather implications.

Ain Shams University in Cairo’s Abbasiya district, however, announced it would not cancel its classes on Thursday, noting that all its faculties will normally receive students.

This comes as the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has expected unstable weather and heavy rainfall in some governorates over three days starting Wednesday, while it expected cold weather and moderate rainfall in Greater Cairo.

Six governorates suspended school classes on Wednesday.
