CAIRO - 14 November 2020: Egypt strongly condemned the attempt of launching two explosive-laden unnamed boats by the Iranian-backed Houthis militia against Saudi Arabia, according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.

The attack caused a fire in the hoses of an offloading floating platform of an oil distribution refinery in Jazan Region following successful interception and destruction of the two boats in the southern Red Sea by the Joint Forces of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, the statement said.

“Egypt reiterated its total rejection and denunciation of such despicable acts of sabotage that target the security and stability of the Kingdom and its people, and the safety of its vital installations, and affect energy supplies and international freedom of navigation. Egypt also affirmed its solidarity with sisterly Saudi Arabia in the measures it takes in order to preserve its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens, and to counter terrorism of all forms,” the statement read.
