CAIRO – 26 July 2020: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi phoned Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber to express his sincere wishes to Kuwaiti Emir for good health and a speedy recovery, Egyptian Presidency said.

Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, for his part, thanked Sisi for this gesture, which “reflects the brotherhood spirit and depth of historical relations between the two countries and brotherly peoples,” Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.

Kuwait’s Emir, 91, arrived in the United States last Thursday to resume his medical treatment, according to the state news agency, which affirmed that he is in a good condition.

The Emir underwent successful surgery earlier last week, according to his office.

Sheikh Sabah also returned home in October, 2019, after hospital treatment in the US, after his office said in August that he had suffered a health setback while in Kuwait, without providing details.

On the 68th anniversary of Egypt’s July 23 Revolution, Sheikh Sabah sent a cable of greeting to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, expressing good wishes to the Egyptian leader and people and hoped that Egypt would achieve more progress and development.

Sisi, in 2017, issued a decree published in Egypt’s Official Gazette, stipulating that the privileges of law no. 143 of 1981 related to ownership of desert lands that is enforced on Egyptian citizens are now granted to the Emir of Kuwait, too.

The decree enabled the Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber to own lands the same as Egyptian citizens.

The decision granted the Emir of Kuwait three lands of 163 acres in the Sharqiya governorate. The first land is 6 acres, the second is 128 acres and the third is 29 acres.
