CAIRO - 18 February 2019: The Court of Cassation upheld on Monday the ruling issued by Cairo Criminal Court to put 241 defendants in the lawsuit publicly known as “Second Sinai Province” on terror lists for five years rejecting their appeals.

The Cairo Criminal Court’s verdict was announced on May 27. The arraignment in the lawsuit no. 1000/2017, which is still ongoing, includes launching an attack against police and army forces and checkpoints causing casualties and injuries among security personnel.

The arraignment also consists of the affiliation to a terrorist group; planning to assassinate public figures and vandalize public and private institutions; and, attempting to topple the regime and suspend the constitution.
