CAIRO – 12 September 2017: Several countries, international entities, and religious institutions have condemned the attackthat occurred in the city of Arish, Sinaion Monday.

The U.S. Embassy in Cairo stated on Monday that it condemnedthe attacks in the strongest terms Monday. The attack resulted in the reported deaths of at least 18 Egyptian policemen, including officers, and several ambulance workers.The embassy expressed its deep sympathies for those killed and injured by this cowardly act of terrorism.

The statement added that the United States stands firmly with Egypt after this horrific attack.




European Union (EU) Ambassador, Ivan Surkoš, stressed that the EU supports Egypt in combating terrorism, and offered condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist attack.

The embassy of Saudi Arabia in Cairo expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation for the attack and affirmed backing Egypt against Terrorism




The German embassy in Cairo tweeted describing the attack as “cowardly and brutal” adding that nothing can justify that act of terrorism.

In a statement issued on Monday, Al-Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayyeb stressed that such terrorist attacks will not stop the policemen or the armed forces personnel from uprooting terrorism.

Al-Azhar’s imam offered condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
