CAIRO – 20 June 2026: The foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, along with the US president’s senior advisor for Arab and African affairs, held talks in Cairo on Saturday on several regional issues, including Iran.
Egypt’s Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Arabia’s Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Türkiye’s Hakan Fidan, and US adviser Massad Boulos also discussed developments in Africa, including Libya, as well as the Palestinian cause.
The talks highlighted a recent memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, with participants stressing the importance of building on the agreement to reduce tensions and enhance regional security and stability.

On Libya, officials underscored the need to preserve the country’s unity and sovereignty, advance the political process, and work toward unifying state institutions.
