CAIRO – 17 June 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed that resolving the Palestinian cause remains essential to achieving permanent peace and stability in the Middle East during talks with US President Donald Trump.

The remarks came during a meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the Group of Seven (G7) Summit in the French city of Évian, according to the Egyptian Presidency.

El-Sisi expressed hope that the coming period would witness concerted efforts to resolve conflicts across the Middle East, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.

El-Sisi also reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to continued coordination with the US to advance the implementation of all components of Trump's peace plan for the Gaza Strip, as well as efforts aimed at restoring calm and stability across the region.

The talks formed part of broader discussions between the two leaders on regional developments and efforts to promote peace and security in the Middle East as well as on strategic relations between the two countries.
