El-Sisi, Tshisekedi witness signing of agreements on political talks, investment, health

CAIRO – 10 June 2026: The presidents of Egypt and DR Congo witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and agreements between the two countries during a ceremony at Egypt's presidential palace.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of delegations from both countries as part of DR Congo’s President Felix Tshisekedi’s official visit to Egypt.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and DR Congo’s President Tshisekedi witnessed the signing of an MoU on political and diplomatic consultations, signed by the Egyptian and Congolese foreign ministers.

The two sides also signed an agreement to promote investment relations between Egypt's General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and the National Investment Promotion Agency. The agreement was signed by Egypt's foreign minister and DR Congo’s minister of planning and coordination of development aid.

In the healthcare sector, the two countries signed a draft MoU to establish an Egyptian cardiology and cardiovascular diseases wing at the Renaissance hospital in DR Congo. The agreement was signed by Egypt's foreign minister and the Congolese minister of public health.

Another MoU was signed between the Administrative Capital for Urban Development and DR Congo’s Ministry of Urban Planning and Housing to promote cooperation in housing and urban development.

The agreements reflect ongoing efforts by Egypt and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to expand cooperation across political, economic, healthcare, and development sectors.
