CAIRO - 20 April 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held phone calls on Monday with his counterparts in Oman, Pakistan, and Turkey to discuss regional developments and efforts to contain escalating tensions.
In a Monday statement, the ministry noted that Abdelatty spoke with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The discussions centered on exchanging assessments regarding the ongoing negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.
The ministers emphasized the necessity of continued coordination to ensure the success of the diplomatic track. Abdelatty stressed that advancing the negotiation process is a fundamental pillar for reaching concrete understandings that guarantee a ceasefire, de-escalation, and an end to the war.
The calls reflected a shared vision that diplomatic solutions and dialogue remain the sole option for settling disputes and shielding the region from further instability.
