CAIRO - 9 April 2026: Egypt and Pakistan have launched the joint military exercise “Raad-2,” with the participation of Egyptian paratroopers and Pakistani special forces, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries.

The exercise is being held over several days at special forces combat training grounds in Pakistan.

According to the statement, the drill will include a number of joint training activities covering planned special forces missions and counterterrorism operations. The aim is to exchange tactical expertise, unify operational concepts, improve coordination, and sharpen the skills of the participating troops.

The exercise comes within the framework of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ broader plan for joint training with allied and friendly countries, in support of military cooperation across various fields.

The latest drill reflects continued defence coordination between Cairo and Islamabad, particularly in areas related to special operations and combat readiness.
