CAIRO – 15 March 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized on Sunday that Egypt’s national production will not stop amidst the repercussions of the ongoing military escalation in the region, the Cabinet said in a statement.
Speaking at a meeting with ministers and heads of industrial and commercial chambers, Madbouly stressed that the state’s proactive measures have strengthened the country’s ability to secure raw materials and meet all production needs.
“What we are experiencing represents an exceptional situation, with difficult repercussions for countries worldwide, but we hope this period will not last much longer,” he said.
Madbouly stressed that the world cannot sustain a prolonged continuation of the conflict, given the heavy costs currently being borne by all countries.
The meeting reviewed the repercussions of the ongoing escalation for countries in the region, including Egypt, particularly regarding the energy sector, which is facing unprecedented challenges affecting all, the statement said.
State Priorities
The Egyptian state is working to stabilize markets, maintain price balance, and prevent major increases in inflation rates amidst the military escalation in the Middle East, Madbouly said.
He underscored that Egypt aims to avoid significant inflationary increases that could affect interest rates.
Madbouly’s remarks come two weeks into the US-Israeli war and retaliatory Iranian strikes against several countries in the Middle East. The escalation has drastically hit global trade, driven up energy prices, and deepened regional instability.
