All inmates to be granted one exceptional visit on occasion of Eid al-Fitr: Interior Ministry

CAIRO - 14 March 2026: Egyptian Ministry of Interior has decided to grant all inmates of correctional and rehabilitation centers one exceptional visit on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr (The Feast of Breaking the Fast).

 

This decision stems from the Ministry's commitment to providing all forms of support and care to inmates, and to giving them the opportunity to meet with their families and share in the joy of various occasions.

 

The Ministry has specified the period for benefiting from this decision. Visits will begin on Friday, March 20, 2026, and continue until Thursday, April 23, 2026, to ensure that all families have the opportunity to visit their incarcerated relatives during the Eid holidays and the days following.

This humanitarian step comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing commitment to upholding human rights values ​​and implementing the principles of a modern penal policy that focuses on psychological and social rehabilitation, and providing all aspects of care for inmates to ensure their return and reintegration into society as productive members.
