AMMAN – 10 January 2026: Egypt and Jordan on Saturday stressed the need for full adherence to the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the implementation of all its provisions in line with the plan put forward by US President Donald Trump.
The position was conveyed during a phone call between Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, who discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations as well as regional developments.
The two ministers underscored the importance of ensuring the sufficient and sustained entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and moving forward toward the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.

They also stressed the need to announce the formation of a Palestinian technocratic committee to administer Gaza, deploy an international stabilization force (ISF), and create the necessary conditions for early recovery and reconstruction.
Abdelatty and Safadi emphasized the importance of preserving the unity of Palestinian territory between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and of linking stabilization efforts to a clear political horizon that achieves a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
The two ministers also warned of the dangers posed by illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank.
They cautioned that such actions risk triggering further escalation and undermining all de-escalation efforts, as well as prospects for achieving a just peace based on the two-state solution as the only path to lasting security and stability in the region.
