At least five killed in Israeli attack on Gaza school-turned-shelter

GAZA CITY – 19 December 2025: At least five people were killed on Friday in an Israeli attack on eastern Gaza City, Palestinian medical sources said, the latest violation of the Gaza ceasefire in place since October.

The attack targeted a school that had been converted into a shelter in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood.

Ambulance and civil defence teams were still working to transport the wounded to hospitals, the sources said, amid severe humanitarian conditions and acute shortages of medical supplies.

Israeli forces have carried out nearly daily attacks despite the ceasefire.

Since the war began in 2023, more than 70,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, including 395 since the ceasefire took effect, according to the enclave’s health ministry.
