CAIRO – 13 December 2025: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Saturday called for advancing the formation of a Palestinian technocratic committee to manage Gaza, in line with the UN Security Council’s recently adopted Resolution 2803.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Advisor to the French President for Middle East and North Africa Affairs Anne-Claire Legendre on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum in the UAE.
Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza and called for the rapid establishment of the international stabilization force to carry out its responsibilities in the territory under the resolution.
The minister welcomed France’s support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
He emphasized the need for coordinated international action to create a political horizon for a fair and sustainable settlement based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The minister also discussed Egypt’s strategic ties with France, expressing hope to expand economic and trade cooperation, increase French investment, and strengthen collaboration in sectors including industry, transport, tourism, culture, and education.
During the meeting, Abdelatty briefed Legendre on Egypt’s efforts in Sudan within the Quad framework to achieve a ceasefire and support a comprehensive political process.
He underscored Egypt’s commitment to Sudanese sovereignty, unity, and institutional stability.
He also updated her on his recent visit to Lebanon, reaffirming Egypt’s support for Lebanese sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the role of national institutions in maintaining security and preventing escalation.
