CAIRO – 22 October 2025: A Danish parliamentary delegation conducted a field visit to the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) warehouses in North Sinai’s Arish city as well as to the Rafah Border Crossing with Gaza to observe Egypt’s relief efforts in support of the Palestinian people.

Khaled Maghawer, Governor of North Sinai, accompanied the delegation.

Leading the delegation, Member of the Folketing (Danish Parliament) Christian Friis Bach expressed his deep respect for Egypt, praising its role in facilitating peace for Gaza after the Israeli war.

He emphasized that the Gaza peace plan could never have succeeded without Egypt’s efforts.

During the delegation's visit to the Rafah land crossing, Bach stated that Denmark is working closely with Egypt at every stage to ultimately achieve a two-state solution, in which Palestinians and Israelis can live in security and peace. He stressed that Egypt is a key partner on this track.

He added that Denmark has provided $150 million in support to Palestinians in Gaza over the past two years and is ready to do more.

Bach highlighted the field hospitals that are already operational in Rafah, affirming that Denmark is prepared to be present on the ground to help with reconstruction in Gaza, supporting the Palestinian people and partnering with Egypt to advance peace in the region.

During the visit to the ERC's warehouses, officials at the Red Crescent warehouses showcased the storage and packaging processes for humanitarian and medical aid, as well as the procedures for preparing relief convoys headed to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah land crossing.

The North Sinai governor emphasized the ERC’s crucial role in coordinating between relevant authorities to ensure the swift delivery of aid, praising the efforts of volunteers and field personnel.

Bach expressed his appreciation for the scale of Egypt’s organized humanitarian work.

Bach highlighted the importance of supporting regional and international efforts to maintain the continuous flow of aid to people in Gaza.

The ERC today launched the 56th “Zad Al-Izzah – From Egypt to Gaza” convoy, carrying hundreds of trucks loaded with urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, totaling around 8,300 tons.

The aid includes over 4,000 tons of food baskets and flour, more than 2,300 tons of essential medical and relief supplies, and over 1,800 tons of fuel materials.

Since the beginning of the crisis, the total volume of humanitarian and relief aid entering Gaza through the ERC has reportedly exceeded half a million tons.

The ERC is responsible for coordinating the entry of aid via the Rafah border crossing, which has remained open on the Egyptian side since the start of the crisis. It also manages fully equipped logistics centers to facilitate aid delivery, with the participation of 35,000 volunteers.

Additionally, the Egyptian Committee responsible for providing relief services to the people in Gaza is constructing the tenth camp for displaced Palestinians in Egypt.
