President Sisi welcomes convening of two-state solution conference in UNGA 80

CAIRO – 22 September 2025: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi welcomed the convening of the two-state solution conference in New York as a historic opportunity that must be seized to end decades of conflict and suffering.

In a statement, President Sisi added: “The recognition and realization of an independent Palestinian state is not a dream. It is, rather, a commitment to a right for which the Palestinian people have long struggled and which has been supported by all peace-loving peoples of the world. It is the sole way to achieve lasting peace, security, and cooperation among all peoples of the region,”

On behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly is participating in the UNGA 80 meetings. 

At the conference, French Ambassador to Cairo Emannuel Macron announced officially France’s recognition of the Palestinian State to join the UK, Canada, Australia, and Portugal to recognize the Palestinian State. “
