CAIRO – 11 September 2025: Israeli forces killed 72 people, including 9 humanitarian aid seekers, in Gaza over the past 24 hours as they continue to order some million people in the northern Gaza City to evacuate.

The Israeli military has intensified attacks on Gaza City, home to nearly half of the enclave’s population, striking high-rise towers and pushing residents to evacuate to a so-called humanitarian zone in Al-Mawasi.

Many people in the city told The Guardian and BBC that they will not evacuate because they do not trust Israel’s pledges that Al-Mawasi will be truly safe.

Israeli forces have repeatedly launched airstrikes on areas they had previously designated as “safe,” including Al-Mawasi Camp as well as locations in Khan Younis and Rafah in southern Gaza, killing scores of civilians.

Israel kills dozens of Palestinians every day in Gaza and has announced the start of the second stage of conquering Gaza City.

The operation, according to Israeli officials, aims to evacuate the residents, return the captives still held by Hamas and impose full security over the entire enclave.

Moreover, the operation’s objectives include fully demilitarizing Gaza and establishing a new civil administration unaffiliated with either Hamas or the Palestinian Authority.

Since the start of the war in October 2023, the Israeli forces have killed 64,718 in Gaza and injured 163,859 more in one of the bloodiest conflicts in modern history, according to the enclave’s health ministry.

Israeli forces have also continued attacks near humanitarian aid distribution centers operated by the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

A total of 2,465 people were killed while seeking aid and 17,948 more were wounded, according to the ministry.

As famine was confirmed in Gaza in August by a UN-backed report, the ministry reported a total of 411 deaths, 142 of them children, due to malnutrition and starvation. Of this total, seven people, including a child, succumbed to hunger and malnutrition within the past 24 hours.
