CAIRO – 16 August 2025: General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, has witnessed the execution of the main phase of the Specialized Strategic Command Post Exercise of the Military Intelligence Authority.

The exercise is part of the Armed Forces’ combat training plan for its formations and departments and in line with the objective of reviewing operational plans in light of prevailing and emerging challenges, the Armed Forces’ spokesman said in a video statement on Saturday.

The video begins with a previous recorded statement from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in which he emphasizes that “Egypt’s national security is a red line—one that shall not be crossed, regardless of who approves or objects.”

In his address, Major General Sharif Fikry, Director of the Military Intelligence Authority, reaffirmed the General Command’s commitment to providing the Authority with all necessary resources and advanced technological capabilities.

These assets enable the Authority to maintain continuous surveillance, achieve full readiness for immediate response to any aggression, and confront threats to Egypt’s national security with the highest level of efficiency, Fikry stated.

The defense minister engaged with a number of commanders participating in the exercise, expressing his appreciation for the distinguished performance demonstrated by the participants.

Saqr stressed that the Egyptian soldier—past and present—has consistently proven his capability to safeguard the nation’s resources and protest its borders.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, also attended one of the project’s phases, where he engaged with several commanders and officers regarding their various missions.

The spokesman highlighted that the implementation of this exercise reflects the Armed Forces’ keenness to enhance its capabilities and raise the efficiency of its personnel across all specializations in keeping with the evolving requirements of Egypt’s national security.
