Gaza faces largest mass massacre in modern history, death toll rises to 58,895 martyrs

CAIRO – 20 July 2025: The Palestinian Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the besieged strip is heading towards an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe due to the ongoing genocide that keeps on killing and starving more than 2.4 million people, including 1.1 million children

“We are on the verge of a phase of mass death due to the Israeli occupation's closure of all crossings for more than 140 days, preventing the entry of humanitarian and relief aid, baby milk, and fuel. The complete tightening of the siege amid the depletion of food and medicine continues as part of the starvation policy,” the media office said in a statement on Sunday.

“The world is watching Gazans being slaughtered by starvation and extermination without taking any action. We are facing the largest mass massacre in modern history,” the statement continued.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that so far 71 children have died of hunger and malnutrition.

According to the daily report on the death toll of the Palestinians in Gaza, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that, in the past 24 hours, the Gaza Strip hospitals received 130 martyrs and 495 injured from the deliberate massacres by the occupation army.

The death toll rose to 58,895 martyrs, while the number of the injured reached 140,980 since October 7, 2023, the statement continued.

This number includes the civilians killed by the occupation forces while seeking aid, whose number has reached 922, with an additional 5,861 wounded.
