CAIRO – 26 June 2025: As summer begins, Egypt is experiencing soaring temperatures, with Cairo expected to reach nearly 39°C and South Sinai, home to the charming city of Sharm El-Sheikh, exceeding 40°C in the coming days.

No relief from the heat is in sight until Sunday.

However, the North Coast, which includes Alexandria and Matrouh, will offer some respite with felt-like temperatures remaining below 35°C, dipping to around 31°C by Monday.

If you're looking to escape the heat, the North Coast is your best bet, where pristine waters and a delightful coastal experience await you, along with fresh fish straight from the sea.

Actual temperatures in the shade are slightly lower than the felt-like temperatures due to humidity, which the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) indicates can make it feel hotter by 2-3 degrees.

In summary, the EMA forecasts hot to extremely hot weather with humidity across most regions during the day, while the North Coast will experience warm and humid conditions.

Nights and early mornings nationwide will be more moderate.

Travelers to Upper Egypt should be prepared for extreme heat, especially in the southern areas like Aswan and Luxor, where felt-like temperatures may reach up to 43°C.
