Greater Cairo sees wave of dust, sand leading to lack of visibility on roads

CAIRO – 13 February 2023: Cairo witnessed on Monday a wave of dust and sand that covered most of the areas around the country and led to the lack of visibility on roads.

Egypt’s Meteorological Authority called on citizens to wear a mask because of the dust, and avoid being in open areas, close windows, and avoid going out especially for allergy sufferers and sinus patients.

It was added that hot weather will be witnessed during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northeastern coasts, South Sinai and northern Upper Egypt, moderate on the northwestern coasts, hot in southern Upper Egypt, and cold at night in most parts.

light rain is also expected at night in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the Canal cities.

 

Temperatures expectations on Monday

- Cairo: Highs of 28 – Lows of 15 degrees

- Alexandria: Highs of 21 - Lows of 13 degrees

- Marsa Matruh: Highs of 19 degrees - Lows of 12 degrees

- Sohag: Highs of 30 degrees - low of 13 degrees

- Qena: Highs of 30 degrees - low of 13 degrees

- Aswan: Highs of 31 degrees - low of 14 degree
