Pakistani president invites Egyptian counterpart to hold state visit

CAIRO – 23 March 2022: Pakistani President Arif Alvi received Tuesday Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry, saying he looks forward to a visit by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to continue pushing forward joint relations.

 

On his side, Minister Shokry delivered the greetings of President Sisi, affirming Egypt's desire to intensify political consultation and coordination with Pakistan over issues of mutual interest, whether bilaterally or on the international community level.

 

The minister of foreign affairs also delivered Tuesday a message from the Egyptian president to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, expressing aspiration to expand the momentum of bilateral relations.

 

The minister had delivered messages from the president to the chiefs of state of Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore as he is holding an Asian tour that started on March 14.

 

Minister Shokry is also participating in the 48th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, and that kicked off earlier Tuesday, and will conclude Wednesday.
