Maait highlighted the state’s efforts to start paying higher wages and pensions to beneficiaries starting April.
It also approved that the value of the periodic annual bonus for the private sector, which is effective starting from 2023, should not be less than 3 percent of the insurance subscription wage stipulated in the Social Insurance and Pensions Law, with a minimum of LE 100.
The decision was attributed to the adoption of flexible mechanisms to encourage business owners to implement the new ruling, and to give the affected establishments the opportunity to submit their complaints no later than October to the council’s complaints and wages committees.
The Cabinet approved on Wednesday a draft law on minimum wages at government entities, with the lowest monthly payment set at L.E. 2,400.
