The 900-year-old manuscripts, sourced from the Al-Azhar Library’s collection, were highlighted in a statement from Al-Azhar on Friday.
The Ayyubid state was established by Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, who defeated the Fatimids and expelled them from Egypt in 567 AH / 1174 AD.
The Fatimid state was the golden age of Islamic art in Egypt.
Al-Azhar Mosque is one of the oldest and most important mosques in Egypt and the Arab world.
