The statement included the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and a cross-regional group of countries: Egypt, Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Gambia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Maldives, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Türkiye, and Yemen.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with his Palestinian counterpart, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, on Friday on the sidelines of the 10th Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean in Barcelona.
Egypt warned that the repercussions of these ideas are considered injustice and an infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, saying “Egypt will not be a party to it.”
"These statements are completely unacceptable, as Egypt fully controls its territory, and does not allow any party to embroil Egypt's name in any failed attempt to justify its shortcomings,” the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said on his X on Monday.
“No country can consider itself as an evaluator or arbiter in this regard,” Egypt’s Foreign Ministry continued.
