The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) published Monday an infograph on the Suez Canal's naval fleet, showing that it includes two dredgers that are considered the biggest in the Middle East region.
That is the primary estimation.
The main goal of the Suez Canal, both the main and the new one, is to link the Red Sea in eastern Egypt, through Suez city on the Gulf of Suez, with the Mediterranean Sea in the northern part of the country, through Port Said city, passing by Ismailia city almost halfway.
A record-breaking 59 ships carrying 3.6 million tons passed through the Suez Canal Thursday, Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Mohab Mamesh said.
"The Suez Canal Authority will take legal actions against everyone who spreads false and misleading news about the canal."
Egypt’s Suez Canal achieved revenues worth of $853.7 million in March and April.
