Replacement
The recently announced initiative encourages tuk-tuk drivers in Cairo to replace their three-wheeled vehicles with licensed quadricycles, as authorities move to modernise transport and curb street-level disorder.
Speaking to Egypt Today, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber said the governorate will “within days” announce full details of a new initiative that offers drivers a vehicle to replace tuk-tuks, along with installment-based payment programs designed to encourage participation.
The Ministry of Health and Population will replace and renew dialysis machines and water systems at 400 hospitals across the country.
