Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed on Saturday that Egypt is working with each of Greece and Italy to implement electrical interconnection projects with the two European countries.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said he discussed with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias, cooperation regarding the power linkage project between the two countries besides a number of major issues, including border demarcation.
Consultationse on Egypt-Italy power linkage have been underway with Rome, a project that would turn Egypt into a bridge of electric transmission from Africa to Europe, said Ayman Hamza, spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity Sunday.

The first stage of electricity linkage with Sudan is expected to operate next January with a capacity of 150 mega watts.
