Earth Hour
Egypt is participating with countries around the world in the global initiative to turn off lights "Earth Hour," which this year comes under the slogan "Together for the Biggest Hour for the Earth."
Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism& Antiquities partcipates in “Earth Hour”.
Egyptian landmarks of Giza’s Pyramids, Sphinx, Salah el Din Citadel, Cairo Tower, Alexandria’ Bibliotheca, Qaitbay citadel, and some temples in Luxor and Aswan will switch off lights to promote public awareness of climate change threats.
The event contributes to rationalizing the use of energy via turning turning off unnecessary lights to face global warming phenomenon, said Ministry of Antiquities.
“Earth Hour”, March 24, 8:30 p.m., the world-iconic lights-out show, asks those participating to switch off all their lights and show their commitment to the planet.
