Bahraini interior ministry on Saturday announced uncovering “the principal organization” linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the ideology of “Wilayat al-Faqih,” arresting 41 of its members.
ElRaghi’s arrest came after he publicly criticized the head of a local administrative unit for the accumulation of garbage and the deteriorating state of services in several villages, including his own—Al-Hawrani, in Faraskur Center. The security forces also seized 941 firearms, including automatic rifles, the statement added, noting that corruption crimes with more than EGP 2.8 billion were uncovered.
Abdel-Latif was detained upon an arrest warrant and is currently being questioned by the investigation authorities, the source added.
Bashir and two other accused employees are facing accusations of joining a terrorist group and committing terrorism and finance-related crime.
