Egyptian mediation
Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty communicated Egypt’s position during phone calls on Saturday with the foreign ministers of Germany, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, in addition to European Commission officials.
Hamas reportedly accepted the draft phased agreement brokered by the mediators, Egypt, Qatar and the US, which includes provisions for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of numerous captives.
The source noted that the committee will be affiliated with the Palestinian Authority (PA) and compromise independent figures
The Hamas Movement will hand over the Gaza Strip to the consensus Palestinian government headed by Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah Monday.
