The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has revealed a new increase in humidity levels across most parts of the country, increasing the perceived temperature by an average of 4 degrees Celsius compared to the temperature measured in the shade.
Egypt is facing increasing humidity this week as the country has been suffering from a scorching heatwave that led to power outages across the nation.
The authority said that the first day of Eid al-Adha, which is expected to fall on Saturday, will see very hot weather during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai and the south of the country, while hot and humid on the northern coasts and moderate at night on all parts.
EMA said that the rise in humidity levels is affected by India’s seasonal depression, which increases the perceived temperature.
