African Union Mission in Somalia
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed Egypt’s anticipated participation in the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) in a meeting with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Cairo on Sunday.
“Our participation is positive,” Sisi said in a joint press conference with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who embarked on a visit to Cairo on Thursday to elevate relations between both countries.
IED exploded Wednesday on the side of a road in Shebelle south of Somalia, after a military convoy carrying African Union peacekeeping troops passed near it.
