Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed his happiness to meet President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on Thursday noting that he signed major agreements with President Sisi to elevate Somali-Egyptian relations to a ‘strategic level’.
“Our participation is positive,” Sisi said in a joint press conference with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who embarked on a visit to Cairo on Thursday to elevate relations between both countries.
The leaders of Egypt and Somalia signed on Thursday a joint political declaration to elevate the relations between both countries to the level of strategic partnership.
According to Somali National News Agency (SONNA), the presidents will also discuss counterterrorism efforts as well as security cooperation.
