Vaccination
According to the Ministry, the total number of vaccinated animals has reached approximately 2,161,667 head across the country. This includes 1,467,519 head of cattle vaccinated against lumpy skin disease, and 694,148 sheep and goats vaccinated against sheep pox.
These efforts are being undertaken in fruitful cooperation with civil society organizations to ensure the application of scientific and humane strategies that achieve ecological balance, and also guarantee the safety of citizens.
So far, the campaign has vaccinated 4,517 dogs against rabies and sterilized 445 dogs across several governorates, in line with the national strategy’s goal of achieving an “Egypt Free of Rabies by 2030.”
As part of broader efforts to protect livestock and curb the spread of epidemics, more than 5,000 awareness seminars have also been held to educate breeders on the vaccination schedule and its economic and preventive significance.
The Egyptian Drug Authority stated that vaccines have proven to be one of the most important medical tools for protecting humanity.
The decision requires all those wishing to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah or visit Madinah, Jeddah, Taif, or Mecca regardless of the type of visa to be inoculated against the disease 10 days prior to their travel.
A total of 640,000 children under the age of 10 will receive vaccines in 60 fixed medical points in the Strip, and work is underway to establish other mobile medical points to ensure that vaccinations reach everyone.
Dr. Mostafa Mohammadi, Director of the National Vaccination Center in Vaxera, confirmed in statements that the syncytial virus is rapidly spreading among children, adding, "It will never reach the level of a pandemic and it has existed for many years."
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar revealed that the number of citizens targeted to receive the vaccination has reached 50 million citizens, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
Egyptian Ministry of Health has provided laboratory reagents specialized in diagnosing monkeypox at central laboratories of the ministry.
Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the daily average of recoveries recorded 100, bringing the total number of recoveries to 444,703.
Egypt has fully vaccinated 33,820,506 people against coronavirus, Minister of Higher Education and Acting Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said on Tuesday.
Egypt saw a drop in coronavirus cases and deaths by 54 percent and 45 percent respectively over the past week, Ministry of Health spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar has said.
"The target groups are from the age of 18 years onwards,” said Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry spokesman.
In telephone remarks to Ala Masoliety program on Sada El-Balad, Abdel-Ghaffar said the country seeks to vaccinate 70 percent of the target group by mid-2022.
Life will go back to normal after vaccinating 70 percent of the Egyptian population; 40 percent have been jabbed thus far, according to the Ministry of Health.
The government is targeting to vaccinate 72 million people aged above 12 years old.
This is the lowest daily coronavirus count recorded by the country since 19 January amid a significant drop in cases over the past days.
UNICEF and the Government of Japan signed and exchanged notes for a new collaboration between UNICEF and the Embassy of Japan titled ‘Expanding COVID-19 Vaccination in Egypt’ at the premises of the Ministry of International Cooperation. This collaboration aims to support the COVID-19 vaccination in Egypt and to establish effective cold chain systems for vaccines storage.
The spokesperson appealed to citizens to adhere to the necessary precautionary measures to avoid the spread of the Coronavirus.
