The participation reflects the foundation’s close monitoring of the assembly’s proceedings, including meetings of the Youth Environment Assembly, the Open-ended Committee of Permanent Representatives (OECPR), sessions of major groups and stakeholders, as well as the assembly’s closing plenary meetings.
The delegation raised key issues such as climate adaptation and climate-induced displacement.
Ahmed Fathy, Executive Director of Youth Loves Egypt (YLE) Foundation, described the failure of the Geneva talks as “a painful blow in the battle against plastic pollution—but not the end.”
This historic accreditation reflects international confidence in the YLE’s leading role in environmental protection and enhances the involvement of Egyptian youth in global environmental forums, especially in light of the increasing climate challenges facing our region and the world.
