Wreath Laying
Upon his arrival at the memorial site, El-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was received by Minister of Defense and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, along with Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa.
The ceremony marked Egypt’s annual Martyr's and Veterans' Day on 9 March, commemorating the anniversary of the death of former Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Abdel Moneim Riad in 1969.
The wreath-laying ceremony serves as a tribute to the sacrifices made by the police force.
