Israel struck Syrian armed forces that had been dispatched to the Syrian southern city of Sweida, near Israel, amid deadly clashes between Druze fighters and Bedouin tribes early this week.
Egyptiand and Lebanese foreign ministers discussed the recent developments in southern Lebanon, which threaten regional stability and exacerbate the fragile situation in the area, the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement.
The initiative, supported by the United States and France, is also endorsed by the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Australia, the European Union, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Canada, and Japan
