100 Million Trees
The fourth phase also included extensive integrated afforestation projects. These included supplying 25,000 trees to subsidiaries of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater for planting at wastewater treatment facilities across various governorates.
The Aswan Governorate is working to establish a comprehensive digital database for valuable trees and plants, as part of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's "100 Million Trees" initiative.
This initiative comes within the framework of the Presidential mandate to follow up on the implementation of the “100 Million Trees” initiative, which seeks to increase the per capita share of green spaces, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve air quality, thereby contributing to public health protection and enhancing the urban and aesthetic character of cities and centers across Egypt’s governorates.
Egypt will allocate LE 3 billion for the presidential multi-year initiative to plant 100 million trees in light of the challenges that the world, including Egypt, faces due to climate agenda.
