A total of 251 appeals were filed during the first phase across various governorates, including 47 from Giza. These appeals varied in nature, ranging from requests to annul the entire electoral process to demands for canceling runoff elections in specific districts, as well as appeals seeking to invalidate the announced results.
The Egyptian Supreme Administrative Court on Saturday upheld a “historic” ruling to ban unlicensed preachers from giving Islamic fatwas, saying mosques and social media have been exploited to harm the state and spread division.
