Al Ahly handball ladies defeat Zamalek, secure Egyptian Cup title

CAIRO- 18 March 2021: Al Ahly women's handball team defeated arch-rivals Zamalek 27-20 on Wednesday night to snatch the Egyptian Cup title. 
 
Al Ahly ladies dominated the game from the start and took the lead early in the game with Zamalek trying to chase the score. However, Al Ahly players' speed and accurate shots gave the Red Devils the upper hand in the game. 
 
Also, Al Ahly counted on counter-attacks that followed the fantastic saves of their goalkeeper Ghada Hossam who put on a sensational performance to inspire Al Ahly ladies to a fully-deserved victory. 
 
Al Ahly players received the medals after the match and celebrated their title in the presence of the club's president Mahmoud El Khatib. 
 
"We did much effort throughout the Cup campaign to win the title. I would like to dedicate this precious title to our loyal fans." Al Ahly captain Nasra Eid said after the match. 
 
Al Ahly women's head coach Yehia Youssef celebrated with his players after the match as he lifted his first trophy in his position as Al Ahly women's handball team head coach. 
 
"Our head coach Yehia Youssef prepared the team well for the game and that is why we were on our best form in the game." Ghada Hossam said gave her coach credit after winning the title. 
 
Zamalek lost the Cup title for the second straight season as they lost last season to Sporting.
