CAIRO-6 March 2021: Al Ahly host Congo’s AS Vita Club on Saturday night at Cairo stadium in Matchday 3 of the CAF Champions League group stage.

The Red Eagles secured three points from their first two matches in the group after a victory in the opening match against Al Merrikh of Sudan before losing the second game to Tanzania’s samba.

The title holders hope to improve their situation in the group as they share the second position with their opponents in tonight’s match with three points and they are four points behind the leaders, Simba.

Al Ahly’s head coach Pitso Mosimane believes that his team will face a strong team and the players have to be at their best levels to win the match.

“We will be playing at home and we aim to bounce back after losing the last match to Simba SC. We are capable of overcoming our absences. We faced Al Merrikh SC in the first game in the group without many of our key players and we managed to win the match." Mosimane said in the pre-match press conference.

Besides Ali Maaloul and Walid Soliman, who have been sidelined for a while, the Red Eagles will miss Salah Mohsen for injury and Akram Tawfik for technical reasons.

The game starts at 9:00 pm.
