CAIRO-19 February 2021: The race between Al Ahly and Zamalek at the top of the Egyptian handball league continued as both teams managed to achieve precious victories on Friday.

Al Ahly bounced back after their last-minute loss to Zamalek in the derby on Thursday with a 40-22 victory over Al Zohour.

Al Ahly dominated the game from the start to the end and the club’s head coach, Tarik Mahrous, was keen to give playing time to the players who did not have the chance to play against Zamalek.

On the other hand, Zamalek defeated Aviation club 32-23 to keep their winning run in the league.

Also, Sporting were held to a 18-18 draw by Heliopolis to drop from the top of the table.  

The two giants are leading the table with 16 points each, but the Red Devils come first thanks to goal difference.

Zamalek will face Heliopolis on Thursday and Al Ahly will face Olympic Club while Sporting will face Aviation Club.
