CAIRO-5 February 2021: Al Ahly defeated Al Duhail SC 1-0 on Thursday night in the first round of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Al Ahly booked a place in the competition's semis for the third time in the club's history and they will face Bayern Munich on Monday night in the semi-finals.

Al Ahly won the match thanks to a screamer from Hussein El Shahat after 30 minutes from the start.

Walter Bwalya doubled the score for the African Champions but his goal was ruled out for offside.

Al Duhail SC had many chances to equalize in the second half but Al Ahly's defense stepped up to the mission, clearing away all their attempts to secure the victory for the Egyptian team.

Al Ahly defender Ayman Ashraf received Man of the Match award, following an impressive defensive performance during the match.

El Shahat's goal was enough for the Red Devils to win the match and reach the semi-finals.

Al Ahly became the Arab and African club with most victories in the FIFA Club World Cup as the win over Al Duhail SC is Al Ahly's fourth victory in the competition.
