CAIRO-17 January 2020: Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams revealed that he is not giving attention to the possibility of Lionel Messi’s participation in the match against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Athletic Club face Barcelona on Sunday night in the competition’s final at La Cartuja stadium in Seville.

"I don't care if Messi is playing or not because Barcelona are one of the best clubs in world football. We're going to try to give them as difficult a game as possible. If they beat us, make sure they work for it." Williams said.

Real Sociedad managed to reach the final after a 2-1 win over Real Madrid while Messi-less Barcelona advanced to the final after defeating Real Sociedad on penalties.

Athletic Bilbao’s last title was achieved in 2015 after defeating Barcelona 5-1 on aggregate in the Spanish Super Cup final.

The striker added “In 2015, no one gave us a chance and especially over two legs - and we scored four against them. We have to go into it with lots of excitement. We're a very difficult team to beat.”

The game starts on 10:00 pm.
